The Writers' Association, one of Korea's leading literary organizations, welcomed novelist Han Kang's award of the Nobel Prize for Literature, saying it delivered a message of hope that the place of literature is still ready for the future.

In a commentary today (11th), the Writers' Association said that this award goes beyond just the award of our national writers and reminds us of the role of literature in exploring the nature of human existence in an era when the end of literature was frequently mentioned.Han Kang's literary problem consciousness, which has asked

what humans should do to be human, also deepened the questions that senior generations have steadily raised, stressing that the Nobel Prize for Literature is a blessing for those languages that have embraced soft life.
