Gunmen armed with heavy weapons lined up and opened fire on miners in southwestern Pakistan, killing 20 people.

According to foreign media on the 11th of local time, a small private coal mine in the Douki region of Baluchistan, southwestern Pakistan, was attacked by gunmen early in the morning.

About 40 gunmen broke into the miner's quarters by bursting grenades and other objects, and later gathered miners in one place, lined up, and opened fire.

About 20 miners were killed and seven were injured, local police said.

The gunmen fled after burning mining equipment and other equipment, and the organization that claimed to be behind it has not yet appeared.

Baluchistan, which borders Afghanistan and Iran, is rich in mineral resources, but is frequently active in separatist armed rebels.

Rebels, including the Baluchistan Liberation Army, have insisted on secession, saying the Pakistani government, other regional capital, and China exploit local resources.
