In the wake of the simultaneous explosion of radio and radio calls across Lebanon last month, killing dozens of people, Iran has decided to ban the two communication devices from bringing in aircraft, local media reported.

According to Iran's semi-official ISNA news agency, the Iranian Aviation Organization, the ICAO, says that in the future, all passengers who use the plane will not be allowed to carry electronic communication devices such as radio callers and radios or check-in baggage.

Only mobile phones are allowed on the aircraft, ICAO added.

The move is interpreted as a connection to the simultaneous explosion of radio callers and radios, the main means of communication for pro-Iranian militant Hezbollah, across Lebanon on the 17th and 18th of last month, killing dozens of people.

The explosion, believed to be an Israeli intelligence operation, also seriously injured Iranian Ambassador to Iran, Mostava Amani Zurebanon.

At the time, Lebanon's health ministry asked all citizens to discard their radio callers.

Earlier this month, Emirates also banned the use of radio and radio calls on its planes.

Iran is preparing for a counterattack by launching a large-scale airstrike with about 200 ballistic missiles against Israel on the 1st, saying it is retaliation for the deaths of Palestinian militant Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.
