Full introduction of AI digital textbooks...9 Offices of Education "Be Careful"

Regarding the full introduction of artificial intelligence AI digital textbooks, nine out of 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education across the country expressed their opinion that they should be cautious.

Rep. Ko Min-jung of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's education committee, said that the education offices of Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju, Ulsan, Sejong, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gyeongnam should closely consider the full introduction next year.

The nine offices of education that expressed this opinion are areas with moderate or progressive superintendents.

The superintendents pointed out that it is difficult to introduce it to the entire school collectively and that a consensus should be formed by disclosing research results related to digital over-immersion and concerns about student health.

In addition, they asked that they do not rush and push ahead to prevent confusion in the education field, and there were opinions that the Ministry of Education should review the direction of implementation after sufficient consultation with the Office of Education.

On the other hand, five out of seven education offices with conservative superintendents expressed their approval.
