The Progressive Party, which nominated for re-election in Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, raised suspicions that circumstances such as distribution of money and entertainment were being detected everywhere as the election was nearing the end.

The Progressive Party's Jeonnam Provincial Party issued an emergency statement, claiming that there are a flurry of specific reports that they are illegally campaigning, such as gathering voters from somewhere to provide meals or delivering money envelopes.

The Jeonnam Provincial Party then urged other candidates to stop spreading illegal money and valuables, saying it would run a "72-hour fair election watchdog."
