There was a series of accidents on the holiday highway.

Near the Cheongju Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway, an SUV collided with seven other vehicles after hitting the shoulder guardrail, killing two people and injuring 12 others,
On the Nonsan Expressway in Cheonan, ∀, five people were injured when a bus hit a guardrail.

Other cars stopped nearby are nowhere near.It was around 6:30 p.m. yesterday (13th) that an SUV driving on the

highway and seven other cars collided one after another.Two people were taken to the hospital in the

accident, but 12 others were also slightly injured.

[Ha Kyung-soo / Accident Witness: When I walked by, one of them was completely damaged so that I couldn't recognize its shape. It stopped for about 50 minutes to an hour.]

The SUV hit the guardrail and bounced off, causing the cars to crash one after another, and the driver of the SUV stated at the scene, "The car suddenly stopped trying to stop and caused an accident."

[Police official: Whether there was a brake or a defect in the vehicle, anyway, there was a problem, so he drove on the shoulder to stop the vehicle.]

Police are investigating whether the vehicle was defective, as the driver claimed.

At around 3 p.m. yesterday, an express bus near the Namgongju Interchange on the Cheonan Nonsan Expressway hit the guardrail.Five people, including a bus driver and passengers in their 50s, were injured when

drove the bus over to a hill just next door.

The police believe that the accident was caused by drowsy driving.

About four hours later, this time, a car driving near the Yongyeon Sleeping Shelter on the West Coast Expressway crashed into a leading vehicle and fell to the right.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident, believing that the driver, who found the identity late, failed to slow down.
