Only 54.5% of Gyeonggi's small river maintenance rate...It's only 12.7% in Pocheon.

The maintenance rate of small rivers in Gyeonggi-do Province was just over 50%.


According to the government audit data submitted by Rep. Han Byung-do of the Democratic Party of Korea from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, as of the end of last year, the total extension of the small rivers managed by 31 cities and counties in the province was 5,12km, including 480km in Hwaseong, 428km in Yeoju, 398km in Yongin, 395km in Anseong and 346km in Yangpyeong.

However, the overall small river maintenance rate was only 54.5%.

In the case of Pocheon, only 21km (12.7%) out of 170km were completed, while Paju (15.7%), Hanam (20.9%), and Bucheon (32.0%) also had low maintenance rates.

In the case of Hwaseong, which has the largest number of maintenance sections, only 199km (41.5%) out of 480km was maintained.

The maintenance was completed in Anyang, where the section (5km) was the least.

Since the transfer of the river maintenance project budget to the provinces in 2020, the damage in Gyeonggi Province has reached 24.2 billion won as of 2022, followed by 6.8 billion won in Yangpyeong, 2.8 billion won in Yeoju, and 2.2 billion won in Gwangju.
