Government "a clear violation of the inter-Korean agreement...obligation to repay North Korea"

The South Korean government strongly condemned the North's bombing of some sections of the Gyeongui and East Sea lines, saying it was a clear violation of the inter-Korean agreement and a very abnormal move.

In a statement released today, the Ministry of Unification said, "It is deplorable that it represents the unilateral bombing of the South-North Joint Liaison Office four years ago for leaflets against North Korea."

The Gyeongui Line and the Donghae Line are representative inter-Korean cooperation projects carried out after the inter-Korean summit, and they were built with loans worth $132.9 million at the request of North Korea, confirming that North Korea is still obligated to repay them.

He added that he once again emphasizes that North Korea is responsible for all the bombing of inter-Korean railways and roads.
