Lee Kun-wan, head of the National Defense Research Institute, said in a parliamentary audit of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration today that there is an opinion that there is a difference in the shape of the drones disclosed by North Korea and the drones we operate.

The director responded to a related question from Yoo Yong-won, a member of the People's Power.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration then said it will quickly introduce unmanned aerial vehicles capable of close combat in front-line waters where the threat of the enemy is high, and air-to-air medium-range guided weapons, an integrated weapon system that overpowers enemy guided missile radars and mobile launchers.

In this regard, Director Seok Jong-gun said, "To quickly secure advanced combat capabilities, we will consult with related agencies to come up with innovative measures that break the acquisition process and the framework of defense research and development."
