Government support standards will be lowered so that startups' innovative technologies can be properly protected, and relief and punishment to prevent technology takeover will be greatly strengthened.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced the "Start-up Innovation Technology Protection, Relief, and Reinforcement Plan" at a meeting of economy-related ministers held today (16th).

First, a separate confidential management effort was required for the startup's core technology to be protected under existing laws, but we plan to consider supporting it even if it does not meet the requirements.

It also strengthens legal obligations, such as preventing unfair technology demands from large companies during negotiations with startups and stipulating that even if technology is required, it should be left in writing.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will also allow start-ups to be recognized as losses in addition to real losses from transfer and sales if they lose their technology, and strengthen the level of administrative measures and criminal punishment.
