The National Assembly's Strategy and Finance Committee's parliamentary audit of the National Tax Service was followed by questions about the source of funds for the purchase of houses by former President Moon Jae In's daughter, Da-hye.

Questions followed over reports that some of the money for Yangpyeong-dong's home purchases was brought in from Thailand through bodyguards in 2019.

Commissioner Kang Min-soo replied, "If there is a problem, I will look into it."

[Koo Ja-geun / National Assemblyman (Power of the People): At that time, some of the housing funds were raised through exchange. At the time of former President Moon Jae In, he contacted a local exchange company in Thailand through a Cheong Wa Dae bodyguard and brought won into Korea.]

[Kang Min-soo / Director of the National Tax Service: If there is a problem with tax, we need to look into it]

[Goo Ja-geun / Member of the National Assembly (Power of the People): Have you ever looked at the funding source instructions?]

[Kang Min-soo / Director of the National Tax Service: I can't tell you whether I did or didn't do it for a specific individual, but there is a procedure to take a look internally if we have such a story in media reports or other places. However, I don't think we can do a fund source investigation only with what we see in the media because we always consider the source of the fund and the source of the fund.

[Park Loan / National Assembly Member (Power of the People): Investigate the fund source, such as asset formation process, money transaction, housing transaction process, etc., under abnormal circumstances, right?]

[Kang Min-soo / Director of the National Tax Service: Yes, I think it will be the subject of financial analysis]
