'Illegal Gambling' Lee Jin-ho Dismisses Hwaseong City's Public Relations Ambassador

Comedian Lee Jin-ho, who caused a stir over illegal gambling, was dismissed from the Hwaseong City Public Relations Ambassador.

An official from Hwaseong City told YTN today (17th) that "Lee Jin-ho was dismissed from Hwaseong City's promotional ambassador based on the Hwaseong City Public Relations Ambassador Operation Ordinance."

Article 4, Paragraph 1, No. 3 of the Hwaseong City Public Relations Ambassador Operation Ordinance allows a public relations ambassador to be dismissed if it is deemed inappropriate to perform his/her duties, such as damage to dignity.

Lee Jin-ho is from Jangan-myeon, Hwaseong-si, and was appointed as a public relations ambassador for a two-year term at the 23rd Hwaseong Citizens' Day ceremony in March last year, and has served as a public relations ambassador at various festivals and events in Hwaseong-si.

However, on the 14th, Lee Jin-ho made a stir by confessing on SNS, "I started playing on an illegal Internet gambling site by chance in 2020 and took on an unaffordable debt."

He said, "I'm so ashamed, and I'm sorry. I promise to repay the debt left to me no matter what. I will also faithfully receive the police investigation and pay for my fault," he said.
