The U.S. has used B-2 stealth long-range bombers to launch airstrikes on Houthi rebel bases in Yemen.U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin
said in a statement that the airstrikes targeted five Houthi rebels' underground weapons storage sites.

The Houthi rebels' news channel said Yemen's capital, Sanaa, and its main rebel base, Sada, had been hit by airstrikes, but did not disclose details of the damage.

The U.S. Central Command says it is analyzing the bombing and there appears to be no civilian damage.

Iran-backed Houthi rebels have attacked civilian merchant ships through the Red Sea, saying they are in solidarity with Hamas' war in Gaza, and have recently launched missiles into Israel.

The U.S. has attacked the Houthi rebels several times, but it is highly unusual to use stealth bombers.
