Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said he will push for legislation to give emergency import rights to crop farmers and agricultural cooperatives to stabilize the supply and demand of agricultural and livestock products.

CEO Lee visited a cabbage farm in Banglim-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, and said, "It seems that consumers and workers in the production and distribution stage are in a difficult situation due to a surge in crop prices."

He then asked the National Assembly's Agriculture, Fisheries and Fisheries Committee to prepare legislation and make it a party platform if necessary, saying that the automatic control function would not work if the import permit was given to the producer union.

When asked by farmers to make the supply and demand of foreign agricultural workers more flexible, Lee replied, "It is difficult to talk about employment easily," and said, "We will take specific measures to find out what is possible."
