Arrested a group of illegal gambling websites for teenagers worth 500 billion won

The Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency said it arrested 10 people, including a 20-year-old man, for running an illegal gambling house worth hundreds of billions of won for teenagers, and arrested 9 people.

They are accused of creating nine illegal gambling websites and operating illegal gambling websites worth 500 billion won for about six months since November last year.

Teenagers were found to have fallen into a simple form of gambling, such as soccer and roulette, in which wins and losses are confirmed within a minute after encountering the website with text advertisements or recommendations from friends.

Police said they also criminally booked five out of 170 juvenile gamblers with large deposits or gambling again, and applied for additional compensation for 350 million won in criminal proceeds.
