Han River Books, Library Loans 14-fold After Winning Nobel Prizes

After novelist Han Kang won the Nobel Prize for Literature, loans to Han Kang's works at libraries nationwide have increased more than 10 times compared to before.


The National Library of Korea said it has borrowed 11,356 times as a result of examining 20 kinds of Han River works held in 1,499 public libraries nationwide from the 10th to the 14th.

Compared to 805 loans from the 5th to the 9th before the announcement of the Nobel Prize, it is a 14-fold increase.

The most borrowed books were "The Vegetarian," which was borrowed 1,382 times, followed by "The Boy Is Coming" and "I Don't Say Goodbye."
