Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention "Support to secure domestic COVID mRNA vaccines in 2028"

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it plans to secure domestic COVID-19 messenger ribonucleic acid and mRNA vaccines by 2028.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention held a briefing session today (18th) to support research and development of domestic companies in preparation for the infectious disease pandemic for domestic pharmaceutical and bio companies.

The project aims to support research on developing an mRNA vaccine platform containing genetic information of the virus by 2028 and to authorize COVID-19 mRNA vaccine items.

Instead of being difficult to develop, mRNA vaccines have the advantage of being able to respond quickly to mutations by changing only the genetic information of the virus if made.
