The Seoraksan National Park Office said it has discovered 26 species of unrecorded creatures that have never been found in Seoraksan this year.

The unrecorded species discovered this time are 16 insect species, including black belt parasitic flies, and 9 plants, including the first-class endangered wild life, the black soldier.

The office added that it identified unrecorded organisms through its own "future generation of citizen scientists" activities and monitoring by the wildlife protection group.

As of 2023, Seoraksan National Park has 140 bird species, 1,304 vascular plants, and 2,920 insects.
