The Korea Institute of Medicine, composed of medical scholars, criticized the government's policy to increase medical schools, saying, "We should not push ahead too hard by shaking up our medical care and lowering the quality of medical education."

The Korea Medical Institute pointed out that in December last year, the president of the Korean Medical Association delivered an opinion that the number of people should be increased by 350 first and then adjusted, but the government rejected the medical community's reasonable proposal, saying it rejected it.

In addition, the government pushed for an increase in the number of medical schools in 2025 on the premise that the number of medical schools will not change, and it is acting as a factor to cut off dialogue with doctors, students, and the medical community.

He added that the certification system, which has raised Korea's medical education to the international level, is also breaking down to increase it by 150%, adding that if more than 10,000 key medical staff are absent, there is no reason for a large-scale increase in doctors.
