18.15 million passengers in the third quarter of Incheon International Airport...the highest number since the opening of a port

The Incheon International Airport Corporation said that Incheon International Airport passenger performance in the third quarter of this year was the highest since the opening of the port.

Passenger performance in the third quarter was 18,156,842, up 1.3% from the previous highest performance in the third quarter of 2019 and up 17.8% from the third quarter of last year.

When looking at the proportion of passenger performance by region, Southeast Asia was 27.7%, Japan was 24.2%, and China was 16%.

The corporation analyzed the increase in passengers during the summer peak and Chuseok holidays and the achievement of the largest quarterly passenger performance on Japanese and American routes as reasons for achieving the highest performance.

The third-quarter operating performance also broke the record with 105,672 operations, up 3.2% from the previous record-high third quarter of 2019.

In the third quarter, transit passengers were 2,185,163, up 9.4% from the same period last year and international cargo performance was 726,555 tonnes, up 4.1% from the same period last year.
