The bereaved family of Itaewon, 2nd anniversary of the death, "Calling for interest in the truth investigation."

Ahead of the second anniversary of the Itaewon disaster, bereaved families declared intensive memorial week and urged attention to finding out the truth.

The bereaved families of the October 29 Itaewon disaster and the civic countermeasure meeting held a press conference today (21st) afternoon near the exit 1 of Itaewon Station.

They stressed that proper fact-finding requires a strong will from bereaved families and citizens who want the truth, and that the special investigation committee should empower the special investigation committee to conduct a fact-finding mission without wavering in any way.

Kim Kwang-ho, former head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and Park Hee-young, the head of Yongsan-gu District Office, said they were miserable and disappointed that they were acquitted in the first trial, adding that they can take a step forward to a safe society only when they hold those responsible accountable.
