Chung Geun-sik, superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, emphasized that the Ministry of Education will carefully consider artificial intelligence and AI digital textbooks that are pushing for full introduction next year.

When asked about his views on the introduction of AI digital textbooks for the 2025 academic year, superintendent Chung said at a parliamentary audit held at the National Assembly Education Committee today (22nd), "We have not yet fully reviewed AI digital textbooks."

He then said he would carefully discuss AI digital textbooks at the National Council of Provincial Superintendents next month.

In response to the opinion that a pilot school should be selected and partially introduced AI digital textbooks, he expressed a cautious position, saying that students should not be subject to experiments.

He also reiterated that AI digital textbooks are difficult to apply in specific grades because they are textbooks, not reference books, and that he will listen to the positions of the Ministry of Education and the superintendents and think carefully.
