A former professional volleyball player accused of assaulting and taking money from a minor he met in a club has been commuted at an appeals court.

On the 16th, the Seoul High Court sentenced a former professional volleyball player A, who was handed over to trial on charges of assault, to two and a half years in prison, breaking the original ruling that sentenced him to three years in prison.

The court said that the pain that minors must have suffered in the midst of brutal assault and intimidation was severe, but that it considered depositing 20 million won.

Mr. A is accused of assaulting a minor, Mr. B, whom he met at a volleyball club in January, several times for not keeping his promise or talking behind his back.

He is also accused of stealing 200,000 won for reimbursement of food expenses and assaulting him by driving him for about four hours in his car at dawn.
