Argentine investigators investigating the crash of former British pop band "One Direction" Liam Payne have drawn the line that some U.S. media reports regarding whether Payne took drugs are still in the process of confirming.

Argentine prosecutors said in a press release on the 22nd local time that "prosecutors met the father of a former member of One Direction who died after falling from the balcony of a Buenos Aires hotel," explaining to the bereaved family that they were conducting toxic and histopathological analysis along with the investigation.

Prosecutors say they have not released a detailed technical report on the case and are investigating mobile phones, computers and security camera recorded videos to monitor Payne's final whereabouts.

This is to explain recent reports in some U.S. media that "an autopsy found drug ingredients in Payne's body," local media Lanacion reported.

Earlier, US entertainment media TMZ and ABC quoted an unnamed source as saying, "Some of the pink cocaine came out of the body."

Pink cocaine is a synthetic drug that is colored with pink food coloring to increase visual effects, and although it was named cocaine, it is known to be made by mixing drugs such as ecstasy, ketamine, and 2C-B.

The Sun, a British tabloid, went on to say that "two hotel employees were on the police list over allegations that they had obtained drugs from Lomas des Samora and handed them over to Payne."

In response, Argentine prosecutors also urged people to refrain from speculative reporting, saying protecting the privacy of the deceased and their bereaved families under the Act on the Rights and Guarantee of Crime Victims.
