Kim Leah, 26, who murdered her girlfriend and seriously injured her girlfriend's mother, who demanded a breakup, will be sentenced to the first trial today.


The 14th Criminal Department of the Suwon District Court will hold a sentencing hearing on Kim Leah, who was arrested and charged with murder on the 23rd (today).

At the last final hearing, the prosecution asked Kim Leah to serve life in prison and requested an order to attach electronic devices for 30 years, a five-year probation order, and an order to ban access to the mother of the deceased victim A.

According to a recording submitted to the court by the prosecution, Kim Leah told her parents who came to visit the detention center, "You just have to live for 10 years and come out. He was quoted as saying, "If you come out, let's live happily."

In the first trial, Kim Leah claimed a "psychiatric drug," saying she drank two to three pills of Geborin and a bottle of soju at the time of the crime. He also said that he had suffered from mental illness due to trauma while searching for a missing person who was in a dead body condition during his service as a police officer in 2021. However, the National Law Hospital issued a statement saying, "At the time of the incident, it seems that the mental and physical weakness or the verification and judgment of reality were in good shape."

Earlier, Kim Leah was put on trial at around 9:35 a.m. on March 25 for wielding a weapon against victim A and his mother B at an officetel in Wauri, Bongdam-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. The victim died while receiving treatment, and her mother was seriously injured.

Kim Leah also threatened, "I will stab you like this and kill you" while stealing a doll with a knife in front of the victim.

The Suwon District Prosecutors' Office disclosed Kim Leah's personal information, judging that the cruelty of the crime and the seriousness of the damage and the need to inform the public of the danger that led to murder in the relationship.


It is the first case in Korea that the prosecution released a mugshot since the enforcement of the Specific Serious Crime Personal Information Disclosure Act in January this year.
