Russian President Putin welcomes Chinese President Xi Jinping. It is the third time this year alone that the two leaders have joined hands again in three months,

Putin praised the relationship between the two countries as an example of the world.

[Vladimir Putin / Russian President: For international security and a fair world order, we will further strengthen cooperation in all international consultative bodies.]

{President Xi also responded that the relationship between the two countries has reached an unprecedented level amid rapid changes in the world.

[Xi Jinping / Chinese President: I firmly believe that China's deep friendship with Russia will not change, nor will the responsibility of the great powers that benefit the world's people.]President

stressed that as neighboring powers, the two countries do not form alliances or target third countries.

The West accuses China of supporting Russia's war in Ukraine.

The Kremlin did not elaborate, saying that the two leaders shared their views on Ukraine in closed-door talks and that they were generally in the same position on international issues.

It was not disclosed whether North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia was also in the talks.

The meeting was held to mark the BRICS summit, which involved 36 countries and six international organizations.

The BRICS, which began as a gathering of emerging economies, has expanded significantly since last year and is developing into a place for Russia, isolated by the war in Ukraine, to gather its allies.

However, India's Prime Minister Modi, who met with Putin, once again called for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict, and some point out that not all participating countries are speaking out in one voice.
