It has been found that the number of North Korean troops sent to Russia will increase in the next few days.

The NIS said 3,000 North Korean troops have headed to Russia, up from 1,500 last week, and that North Korean authorities have also been caught collectively moving their families to prevent internal agitation.

Reporter Kim Moon-kyung reports.

The number of North Korean troops sent to Russia continues to increase, the report showed.

The number of North Korean troops heading to Russia so far has reached 3,000, following 1,500 so far, the NIS said.

He also predicted that the total number of troops will reach 10,000 by the end of this year.

[Park Sun-won / Minjoo Party of Korea Intelligence Committee Secretary: About 10,000 troops contracted between Russia and North Korea are expected to be dispatched around December.]

As the dispatch of troops began in earnest, internal disturbances were also found to be occurring.

The North Korean authorities are thoroughly hiding the fact that they are sending troops, but related information is spreading among the residents.

According to the NIS, circumstantial evidence has also revealed that families of dispatched troops were relocated to control the residents.

[Lee Sung-kwon / National Assembly Intelligence Committee Secretary for People's Power: In order to control and manage the families of dispatched soldiers more effectively, it is also reported that they are moving to somewhere and quarantining them.]

He explained that the dispatch was based on the signing of a new treaty between North Korea and Russia in June that included providing military aid.

He added that although the best North Korean troops with excellent physical strength and morale were dispatched, there is also an analysis that many deaths will occur due to lack of understanding of modern warfare.
