U.S. "We will discuss Chinese companies' car production in Mexico"
U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan stressed that the issue of Chinese companies producing cars in Mexico is also up for discussion when considering the implementation of trade agreements between the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

"How a country like China participates in the auto supply chain in places like Mexico is something that needs to be discussed," Sullivan said in a speech at U.S. think tank Brookings.

Earlier on the 10th, former President Donald Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, said he would renegotiate trade agreements between the United States, Mexico and Canada if elected.

Trump has also pledged to impose tariffs of 100% to 200% on cars made by Chinese companies in Mexico.

The current agreement does not impose tariffs on vehicles produced in Mexico and has raised concerns that Chinese electric vehicle makers could exploit them through Mexican production.
