SK Hynix's 'Greatest Ever' Performance in HBM Sales...Operating profit of 7.3 trillion

SK Hynix posted record-high sales, operating profit, and net profit in the third quarter of this year.

SK Hynix tentatively estimated that its operating profit in the third quarter of this year was KRW 7.3 trillion on a consolidated basis, turning into a surplus compared to the third quarter of last year.

Sales are KRW 17.6 trillion and net profit is KRW 5.8 trillion, which is also the largest quarterly.

Sales, in particular, were new records in the first quarter and operating profit and net profit were the highest in six years since 2018, when semiconductors were booming.

As Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business operating profit is expected to be around KRW 4 trillion in the third quarter, SK Hynix seems to have far exceeded Samsung Electronics.

SK Hynix said it achieved its largest sales since its foundation by continuing strong demand for artificial intelligence memories and expanding sales of high value-added products such as high bandwidth memory and HBM.

In particular, HBM sales grew more than 70% from the previous quarter and more than 330% from the third quarter of last year, it added.
