The audit of the Ministry of Industry...Investigating the appropriateness of nuclear power plant regulations and gas field projects

In the comprehensive audit of the Ministry of Industry by the National Assembly's Trade, Industry and Energy Small and Medium Venture Business Committee, lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties asked about the appropriateness of nuclear power plant regulations and the East Sea gas field project.

The ruling party argued that exports of Czech nuclear power plants are a national task that must be accomplished and that there is a need to restore competitiveness in the nuclear power industry and ease related regulations.

On the other hand, opposition lawmakers have repeatedly argued that the process of entrusting the evaluation of the East Sea gas field project to the U.S. company ActGio was poor and pointed out that the overall bidding review of the Korea National Oil Corporation should be checked.
