The U.S. Department of Defense says it has nothing to say about the report on Ukraine's claim that North Korean troops sent to Russia have been deployed to the western front of Russia.

Asked about Ukrainian media reports that Russian-trained North Korean troops have been deployed to battlefields including Kursk in mainland Russia, Sabrina Singh, a deputy defense spokeswoman, said at a briefing.

Asked if there was any additional information on the situation of North Korean troops sent to Russia, he said, "There is evidence that North Korean troops went to Russia and we should wait and see what they will do."

When asked if there was no evidence or did not yet know that North Korean troops had moved out of the training site or elsewhere, Singh repeatedly said he had to wait and see what they would do and that he had nothing to confirm.

Singh said the North Korean military's dispatch of troops to Russia shows that Putin is as desperate as he is, adding that if North Korea participates in the fighting, they will become a joint war of war and that is a very serious issue.
