Broadcaster Tak Jae-hoon could not hide his bewilderment after hearing the sad news of actor Kim Soo-mi's death abroad.

In a phone call with YTN today (25th), Tak Jae-hoon said, "I left the country to film SBS 'Dolsing Foreman' overseas and arrived there a little while ago. It's 10 p.m. local time, but I came across Kim Soo-mi's sad news late," he said. "Not only me, but Lee Sang-min and Lim Won-hee are all surprised and don't know what to do."

Tak Jae-hoon said at the sudden sad news, "Whether this is true now, I just arrived in a foreign country, I can't believe it or not. I can't think of anything," he said.

After choosing a thought for a while, Tak Jae-hoon said, "It's hard to pay tribute because it overlaps with my overseas schedule, so both the cast and the production team feel heavy," adding, "We haven't seen each other often since we were together on 'The Glory Returns of the Family' last year, but we often texted each other... I didn't expect to die so suddenly," he said, grieving and praying for the deceased's repose.

According to the police, the deceased was transferred to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in Seocho-gu at around 8 a.m. due to cardiac arrest, but was eventually pronounced dead. He was 75. The late

debuted in 1970 as MBC's third-term public talent. He played the role of Ilyong's tusks in the rural drama "The Country Diary," which has been aired since 1980, and performed enthusiastically for 22 years. Since then, he has been active for a long time, appearing in dramas such as "What Happened in Bali," "Hello, Francesca," "Legendary Witch," and "My Sister Is Alive!" as well as in the movies "The Glory of the Family," "Dangerous Greetings," "Mapado" series, "Barefoot Gibong" and "Hell Money."

The mortuary will be set up at the funeral hall of Hanyang University Hospital.
