Amid tension on the Korean Peninsula due to the North Korean military's dispatch of troops to Russia and the distribution of leaflets to the South, our land, navy, and air forces each conducted actual training.

In the meantime, the South Korean and U.S. defense authorities will hold an annual security council meeting next week to discuss North Korea's dispatch of troops and countermeasures.

Reporter Kim Moon-kyung reports.

A mock battle is in full swing between the South Korea-Australia coalition and professional counterparts equipped with scientific equipment.

Gunfire rumbles throughout the ridge as a result of the Allied advance and the response of the opposing forces, and the scene feels a sense of urgency as if it were fighting a real battle.

More than 580 equipment, including drones, tanks, and armored vehicles, and 3,800 soldiers participated in the training, which was the first time for the Australian military to participate.

The soldiers sweated about their mission, regardless of the inclement weather.

[Major James Samuel / Australian Army 3rd Brigade Commander: We have gained confidence that we can train with South Korean troops in South Korea and carry out our duties under any unfavorable circumstances]

The F-35A stealth fighter jet, which strikes the enemy's key target in case of emergency, will launch a sortie.

Following this, the Air Force's main fighter F-15K, KF-16, and FA50 fighter jets rise into the sky one after another.

Response drills were also conducted assuming that about 800 enemies, including manned/unmanned aircraft and missiles, penetrated at the same time.

The South Korean and U.S. Navy also conducted drills assuming various surprise provocations with about 20 ships, P-3 maritime patrol aircraft, and A-10 attack aircraft.

[Colonel Kim Ki-beom / Chungmu Air Force Innocence Captain: Based on overwhelming combat readiness, if the enemy provokes, we will surely defeat it without hesitation and win.]

Meanwhile, the defense ministers of South Korea and the U.S. will hold a South Korea-U.S. Security Consultative Meeting (SCM) next week to discuss North Korea's response to the deployment of troops.

All-in-one extended deterrence and South Korea-U.S.-Japan security cooperation will also be on the main agenda, and it is expected to emphasize once again the solid South Korea-U.S. alliance that has nothing to do with changes in the domestic situation such as the U.S. presidential election.
