Israel has launched a retaliatory strike against Iran.

The Israeli military says it has carried out three rounds of precision strikes on Iran's military facilities.

Flashes flash across the sky in Tehran, the capital of Iran, and explosions can be heard one after another.

Foreign media quoted local media as saying that several loud explosions were heard in Tehran and nearby cities.

Israeli media reported that retaliatory operations targeting Iran ended after three airstrikes.

The Israeli military says it has carried out precision strikes on Iran's military facilities in response to months of Iranian attacks.

Israeli forces are said to have hit dozens of military facilities in Iran, including Iranian drones and missile factories and missile launchers.

"More than 100 unmanned drones and fighter jets were involved in all of the attacks," the New York Times reported, adding that the overnight airstrike ended around 5 a.m.

CBS reported that Israel's attacks were limited to military facilities, not nuclear or oil facilities.

Israel's retaliatory attack against Iran came 25 days after Iran shot about 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on the 1st.

Iran says three states - Tehran, Illam and Khuzestan - have been attacked and suffered limited damage.
