The U.N. Security Council has decided to hold a meeting on the 30th local time regarding North Korea's alleged dispatch of troops to Russia, Russia's Sputnik news agency reported.

The news agency said the UN mission in Switzerland, which is currently the chairman of the Security Council, announced plans to convene a meeting after 3 p.m. on the 30th.

Regarding how the meeting was called, the Swiss delegation explained, "Ukraine demanded it with the support of the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Slovenia and Malta."

The meeting is expected to discuss concerns surrounding the recent close ties between North Korea and Russia.

Sputnik also said Russia had earlier called for a meeting of the U.N. Security Council on the 31st to discuss Western arms deliveries to Ukraine and the consequences on the prospects for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
