KIA beats Samsung to win the Korean Series...the 12th in one's career

Professional baseball KIA defeated Samsung in the Korean Series and lifted its 12th career championship trophy.

KIA beat Samsung 7-5 in Game 5 of the Korean Series at Gwangju Champions Field and confirmed the Korean Series title with 4 wins and 1 loss in the series.

KIA trailed 5-1 until the beginning of the third inning, including two home runs hit by Samsung's Diaz at the beginning of the game.

However, after tying Choi Hyung-woo's solo shot and Samsung pitcher Kim Yoon-soo's wild pitch in the fifth inning, Kim Tae-gun scored the winning run with an infield hit in the sixth inning to turn the game around.

KIA, which passed the bases-loaded crisis in the top of the eighth inning, scored a wedge with Park Chan-ho's timely hit in the bottom of the eighth inning to finish the game 7-5.

KIA won the integrated championship for the first time in seven years following 2017, and broke the KBO record for the most wins with its 12th win.

He also added joy by confirming the victory at his home stadium, Gwangju, for the first time in 37 years since 1987.
