More than 3,000 North Korean troops sent are training mainly at night in Kursk, near the southwestern border of Russia, the Ukrainian military claimed.

"More than 3,000 mercenaries from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have begun organizing on the site," the National Resistance Center (NRC), operated by a special operation unit of the Ukrainian military, said on its website on the 28th local time.

"The soldiers of the Kim Jong-un regime are trained at various training sites and are mainly deployed at night, and the staff of the communist state embassy arrived at the training site together to interpret and observe mercenaries," the Ukrainian military said.

It also added that the soldiers' locations were known, although it was not clear when they would be deployed to combat or how much longer they would train.

Ukrainian authorities are informing North Korean troops every day based on Russian military interception data.
