For the first time this fall, a domestic poultry farm has been confirmed to have highly pathogenic avian influenza. The Central Disaster Management Headquarters of
high-pathogenic avian influenza announced that H5N1 type was confirmed today at a spawning farm in Donghae, Gangwon-do, reported yesterday (29th).
Starting with wild bird feces collected from Mangyeonggang River in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do on the 2nd, three cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been detected in wild birds, but this is the first occurrence in poultry farms this fall.
Upon confirmation of the highly pathogenic avian influenza, the Central Disease Control Headquarters killed all 850 animals raised on the farm and issued a 24-hour suspension of movement for poultry farms, related livestock facilities and vehicles nationwide.
In addition, more than 900 disinfection resources will be injected into roads around migratory birds across the country, nearby poultry farms, and small farms to disinfect them every day.
In particular, three cases of avian influenza in poultry farms and six cases of wild bird influenza have recently occurred in Japan, so quarantine management is necessary ahead of the arrival of migratory birds in winter.
