Pohang City, North Gyeongsang Province, which is building an international convention center, has started to attract international conferences to international organizations such as the United Nations.

The Pohang City delegation, led by Mayor Lee Kang-deok, visited the UN Environmental Program Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss ways to create synergy using mutual expertise and networks and attract major international conferences.

He then met with officials from the World Economic Forum, which hosts the Davos Forum, and introduced Pohang City's ability to host international conferences.

Earlier, the delegation visited the U.N. Industrial Development Organization in Vienna, Austria, to discuss cooperation projects and partnerships.
