[Anchor] Former People's Power lawmaker Kim Young-sun, a key figure in the Suspicion of Intervention in the Nomination, has repeatedly denied allegations of a quid pro quo nomination as he was summoned by the prosecution for two days as a suspect.

The prosecution is expected to soon call in Myung Tae-kyun, a key party to the allegation, to investigate.

Reporter Lim Hyung-joon reports.

Kim Young-sun, a former lawmaker, started a two-day prosecution investigation after 12 hours of intense prosecution investigation yesterday.

Kang Hye-kyung, who was in charge of accounting for the alleged violation of the Political Fund Act, has repeatedly denied the charges, saying she is responsible.

After the prosecution's investigation yesterday, former lawmaker Kim confirmed through Kang Hye-kyung that the money that went to Myung Tae-kyun was 60 million won.

The money was handed over to Myung Tae-kyun after the 2022 by-election, and he dismissed the suspicion that it was the price of the nomination.

He refuted the allegation that 60 million won was paid off.

[Kim Young-sun / National Assemblyman: Kang Hye-kyung takes 90 million won and gives it to four people (Myeong Tae-kyun and three others). I was told to pay back what I received in cash and what I received in my bank account. I have witnesses and evidence.]

However, the prosecution is investigating former lawmaker Kim with the money he received after asking Myung to nominate him.

Kang Hye-kyung, who was in charge of accounting earlier, claimed in a parliamentary audit that Myung had been nominated by former lawmaker Kim in exchange for polling Yoon Suk Yeol during the last presidential election.

As we investigated former lawmaker Kim for two days, there are observations that the summons of Myung Tae-kyun, the core of the suspicion, is imminent.

"The prosecution is expected to focus on whether to nominate a quid pro quo candidate against Myung at a time when the statements of former lawmaker Kim Young-sun and Kang Hye-kyung are mixed."
