12 people, including CEO Park Soon-kwan, will be sent to 'manipulate quality inspection'

Park Soon-kwan, CEO of Aricel, a primary battery company that has been investigated for manipulating test data during quality inspection of military batteries, and officials have been handed over to the prosecution.

The Arisel Fire Accident Investigation Headquarters of the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency sent a total of 12 people, including CEO Park and Arisel officials, without detention on the 1st.

Park and others are accused of manipulating the military's quality inspection test data since 2021 and delivering 4.7 billion won worth of batteries to the Ministry of National Defense by February this year.

The police determined that Park was suspected of being involved in the process of manipulating Arisel's quality inspection after looking at the conversation Park had with his son Park Joong-eon, general manager of Arisel.

Earlier on the 25th of last month, the police handed over seven Econec officials to the prosecution on charges of manipulating the military's quality inspection and delivering the batteries worth 8.2 billion won to the Ministry of National Defense between 2017 and 2018.
