U.S. Democratic Governors Already Confront Trump

CNN reported that Democratic governors of the U.S. with the 2028 presidential election in mind are already determined to resist the conservative policies that Republican President-elect Donald Trump will implement in the future.

Democratic governors in California and Illinois, Massachusetts and New York have said they will fight against the Trump administration from imposing conservative policies in abortion rights, the environment, guns and immigration.

Many are considered potential Democratic presidential candidates, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who had been considered as a vice presidential candidate, called on the state legislature to convene an extraordinary session in December, saying he would abide by progressive policies.Illinois Gov.

J.B. Pritzker said he would protect women seeking abortions, while Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a former vice presidential candidate, also stressed that he was "ready to stand up."

New York Gov. Cathy Hockall said she would not "accept an agenda that seeks to take away rights," while Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healy also said she would not help Trump deport immigrants.
