The National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee passed an amendment to the Special Act on Support for Science and Technology to strengthen support for fostering science and engineering talent.

The revision calls for strengthening policies throughout the researcher's growth cycle, such as preparing policies to inspire elementary and middle school students to learn in the field of science and engineering, and creating guidelines for supporting graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

In addition, opposition lawmakers announced that they would cut the Korea Communications Commission's litigation budget for media companies with the so-called "media control" frame in next year's budget debate for government ministries under the jurisdiction of science and defense.

In addition, the opposition party decided on the 14th to demand the attendance of Ryu Hee-rim, chairman of the Korea Communications Standards Commission, to the budget settlement review subcommittee, saying it should discuss reducing the salary of the chairman of the Korea Communications Standards Commission.
