It will be decided today (12th) whether Lee Ki-heung, chairman of the Korea Sports Council, who was suspended as of yesterday, will be able to challenge for a third consecutive term in the next election in January next year.

The Sports Fair Committee of the Korea Sports Council will hold a general meeting at 2 p.m. today at the Olympic Hall in Bangi-dong, Seoul, to deal with the agenda for approval of Chairman Lee Ki-heung's second term.

According to the association's articles of association, it is necessary to pass the FTC's deliberation from the third term, but Chairman Lee met the basic requirements because he is an incumbent IOC member.

However, as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has suspended its duties, it is practically difficult for the FTC to approve a second term.

The sports association's labor union is openly opposed to Lee's bid for a second term, and the council of 17 provincial and provincial sports chiefs has issued a statement against the union's actions as clear election intervention and violation of election laws.
