A fire broke out in the basement of a 16-story residential complex in Soongui-dong, Incheon, at around 6:30 p.m. yesterday (11th) and was extinguished in three hours.
Within 30 minutes of receiving the report, the fire department issued a "Response Phase 1" that mobilized all of its fire department personnel and equipment and began extinguishing and rescue operations.
A total of 21 people were injured in the fire, including drinking smoke, and three of them were classified as serious.
The fire department said it rescued or evacuated 30 residents from the nursing home on the fourth floor of the building on fire.
There was also a mart on the first floor of the building and a sauna on the third floor, and everyone who was here also evacuated.
In the parking lot on the first basement floor, where the fire is believed to have started, three vehicles were burned, none of which were electric.
Fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
