At a rally organized by the KCTU over the weekend, some participants clashed with police, calling the power of the people a "violent situation" and calling for a thorough investigation of the forces behind it.

On the other hand, the opposition party responded that even opposition lawmakers who attended the rally were injured while the police cracked down hard on citizens.

Last weekend, the People's Power leadership strongly condemned the "violent illegal" rally after news that some participants in the KCTU rally clashed with police.

put down the protesters 105 police officers were injured, and they raised their voices that not only the detainees but also the forces behind the "violence incident" should be thoroughly identified.

Not only the leadership of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, but also the Democratic Party of Korea, which held a rally on the same day, criticized the fundamental problem as representative Lee Jae-myung.

[Kim Sang-hoon / People's Power Policy Committee Chairman: The reason why Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, joined the KCTU is to shake and attack the Yoon Suk Yeol government by borrowing the number of heads of KCTU members and eventually dilute his judicial risk.]

On the previous day, representative Lee Jae-myung compared the police who suppressed the protesters to the 1980s "white bone squad," saying, "Isn't he an accomplice of the illegal protest?"

[Seo Bum-soo / Secretary-General of People's Power: Lee Jae-myung still seems to be stuck in the 80s. Don't be daunted by the law enforcement police....]

On the other hand, the opposition party strongly protested that the main culprit of "violence" at the time was the police who suppressed legitimate protests.

Han Chang-min, the leader of the Social Democratic Party who participated in the rally, urged the National Police Agency Commissioner Jo Ji-ho to apologize, saying he suffered a rib fracture due to police suppression.

[Lim Myung-hee / Social Democratic Party spokesperson] The power used to suppress citizens was disastrous. Even now, the Commissioner of Police acknowledges the truth of the violent suppression....]

The Democratic Party of Korea also criticized the regression of the Republic of Korea, saying that it is no different from the police behavior that suppressed the democratization movement in the past.

There were also criticisms that rallies criticizing the regime were a reckless idea to disband unconditionally.

[Kim Yong-man / Minjoo Party member] The police showed the military regime in the 1980s, physically oppressing lawmakers and people. Our people have always overcome the violence and many hardships from the past to the present.]

Right now, the opposition party has predicted an outdoor rally this week, and if the confrontation between the rally participants and the police leads to repeated clashes, the political battle is expected to heat up.
