U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is expected to select Senator Marco Rubio as secretary of state to oversee foreign policy.
Representative Mike Waltz has been named as the national security adviser.
Both lawmakers are anti-China hard-liners, and the Trump administration's second-term plan is to make checking China a key policy.

Trump is expected to select federal Senator Marco Rubio as secretary of state, the New York Times and CNN reported, citing multiple sources.
Rubio is such a prominent politician in the Republican Party that Trump once considered a vice presidential candidate in the presidential election.
He ran in the Republican presidential race back in 2016. After losing, he led the campaign as Trump's closest ally in advocating America First.

It is classified as a representative hawk because it mainly serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and has a strong voice on China and the North Korean nuclear issue.
China, North Korea, Russia and Iran have been actively listed in each sanctions against China, including the introduction of legislation to restrict real estate transactions in the United States.
During the Bush administration, he visited Korea several times while working as a foreign affairs committee and showed interest in security issues on the Korean Peninsula.
He once criticized North Korea's removal from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and expressed strong caution about North Korea's nuclear and missile development as a "criminal group."
Representative Mike Waltz, who has been tapped as the White House national security adviser, is also considered a public hawk.
A former Army Green Beret member of the House of Representatives' China Special Committee, he proposed legislation to reduce reliance on key minerals China and protect U.S. universities and academics from Chinese espionage.
