The People's Power expressed deep regret, saying that when the court decided not to broadcast the first trial sentence of Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, in violation of the Public Official Election Act, Lee himself ignored the people's right to know by citing human rights.
Joo Jin-woo, chairman of the party's legal advisory committee, said in a statement that he respects the decision of the court itself.
He then emphasized that the ruling will be made public after the election on the 15th, so Lee's crimes will be disclosed to the public.
He also added that he will continue to make efforts to accept live broadcasts in the first trial of Lee's perjury teacher case on the 25th and the future remittance case to North Korea.
Floor leader Choo Kyung-ho also met with reporters and said he respects the court's judgment, but urged the court to request a live broadcast now, as representative Lee has consistently pleaded not guilty.
