For the first time in the Incheon island region that is not connected to land, it has been 330 days since local water supply was supplied to Sindong 2-ri in December last year.
The Incheon Metropolitan City Waterworks Headquarters held the first Incheon Skywater Celebration with a hundred people, including local residents and officials, at the Jangbong branch office in Bukdo-myeon, Ongjin-gun.
As the water supply project, which started as a pilot project, begins in earnest, the beneficiary households, which reached 40 households, will be expanded to 358 households at the end of this year, and will increase to 1,194 households across Bukdo-myeon next year.
Due to the nature of the island area, Bukdo-myeon, including Jangbong-do, has solved drinking water with village water facilities using groundwater, but it has also caused water quality problems such as depletion of groundwater and salt inflow.
Accordingly, the Incheon Metropolitan City Waterworks Headquarters has been pushing for a project to build a local water distribution water pipe network in Bukdo-myeon, where water supply conditions are weak since 2018.
