Due to sluggish retail sales, the number of employed in wholesale and retail businesses fell sharply last month, the largest drop in three years and three months, and the construction industry also retreated for the sixth month.

Last month, the number of employed people increased only 83,000 from the same month a year ago.

It fell below 100,000 in four months, the smallest increase since the 80,000 in May.

Employment in wholesale and retail businesses and construction businesses, which are closely related to domestic demand, has decreased significantly.

Wholesale and retail businesses fell 148,000 people, the largest drop in three years and three months.

Sales of clothing, communication devices and auto parts declined, continuing negative territory for eight months.

In addition to sluggish retail sales, structural factors such as unmanned operation, online conversion, and store size have affected it.

The number of construction orders decreased, resulting in a 93,000 decrease in construction jobs.

In the construction industry, the number of employed people has been backpedaling for six months.

The manufacturing industry also fell by 33,000, with employment falling for the fourth month, while agriculture, forestry and fisheries also fell by 67,000.

On the other hand, employment increased in the health and welfare industries, education and service industries, and accommodation and food industries.

By age group, the elderly drove the job market, and the trend continued to decrease among young people.

The number of employed people aged 60 and over increased by 257,000, while those in their 20s decreased by 175,000.

The number of "rested" people who do not work or look for jobs increased by 207,000 to 2.45 million.

{쉬}'Rest' was the highest ever as of October.

The government said it will come up with a third round of measures to boost investment within this year to create jobs in the private sector, saying the difficulties of vulnerable people in the construction industry, self-employed businesses and young people continue.

From November to December, employment growth is expected to expand due to improved private consumption conditions and base effects.
